Each box contains 4 tubes of gel formulation ant bait; also contains two plungers for easy application or can also be applied with conventional bait gun designed for applying gel bait.
Optigard Ant Gel Bait kills argentine, ghost, thief, acrobat, carpenter and other hard to control liquid ant feeding species. Colorless, odorless, and easy to apply. For use in Commercial, Industrial and Residential areas. Uses include residential, institutional, warehousing, commercial establishments including warehouses, restaurants and other areas.
Bait trays are recommended when Optigard is used in open areas or when used in areas where children or pets are present.
Optigard Ant Gel Bait is designed for the control of ants: excluding fire, harvester and Pharaoh ants.
Attractiveness of the bait to ants is enhanced by its high moisture retention properties and the bait
will remain attractive for at least two weeks following bait deployment. This bait takes advantage of
ant trophallaxis (regurgitation) allowing for transfer of active ingredient throughout the colony.
Ants
that feed on the gel will return to their nest and transfer the bait to the queen and their young,
thereby killing the queen, the young and the entire colony. Dead ants should begin to appear within
days after ants have begun feeding on the bait.

ubstantial reduction in ants foraging should be seen
within a few days to a week.
For effective management of certain ant species such as Argentine ant, reduction of food sources
(such as honeydew-producing insects like aphids) near entry points around the structure is critical.
Long term control is most effectively obtained with a combination of methods for ant management.
This includes broadcasting a non-repellent insecticide such as Taurus SC or Dominion 2L around exterior or perimeter of buildings.  Non-repellent insecticides will not interfere with or contaminate your ant baits.
